Over the years it has been a real joy to have found some wonderful examples of garden furniture from the 1960's & 1970's. This vintage floral swing seat was probably the most exciting find...though putting it together alone, without instructions on a hot summer day was not a great experience!
A good vintage floral is obviously a real treasure to find, such as these deckchairs above. It's often hard to understand how they are still in such good condition after all these years.
Even though most of the Danish garden furniture we have sold has been of the teak variety (like the picture below), they still produced some floral items too, this pair of chairs above were in lovely condition and very comfy.
At the time of writing we have a couple of sets of vintage Danish garden chairs for sale, and also use some at home. They were so well made with a really comfy sit and with a bit of tlc can go on for years. We particularly love the sunburst design of these tables and with a bit of sanding and oiling they often come up (almost) as good as new.
Some pieces are real one-offs though such as these orange plastic chairs below - just so decorative and different to what you can find around today.
Another oddity is the two-seater folding deckchair. Both of these examples were recovered, one using a vintage fabric and one using our own fabric Verdure.
And then there are the umbrellas! Which feel very essential at the moment as I'm writing this post on one of the hottest days of the year so far!
It's been lovely to have a little look back at the lovely outdoor treasures that have past through our doors, and my fingers are crossed that some more will come our way sometime soon...I'll keep you posted!
